The education: You may have a degree or diploma in Architecture, Construction or Civil Technology, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Science, or a construction related field. You may have, or are working towards, professional accreditation such as PQS, CIQS, RICS membership. Hands-on construction industry expertise. With a knowledge of construction, you have experience in estimating/quantity surveying, contracting, procurement, and scheduling for commercial development projects. Strong knowledge of construction contracts. Experience of working Canadian Construction Documents Committee (CCDC) standard contract conditions or equivalent. Technology skills: Microsoft Office, Scheduling, Adobe, Bluebeam, measurement software. Relationship building: You can build and foster relationships with internal and Client stakeholders across all levels of construction projects, gathering information, and eliciting cooperation both onsite and virtually. Provide a full range of quantity surveying services, with emphasis on contracts and procurement, to new and existing Clients Payment certification and progress payments. Undertake monthly site inspections and assess construction progress both on, and off-site where applicable Detailed analysis of contractor and trade progress claims Cost allocation: allocate project costs according to calculated or agreed methods Collate, coordinate, and interpret consultant inputs and reports Change management: manage the change processes in accordance with the Contract and analyze various change orders to determine validity and reasonableness Review plans, specifications, and contract documents where necessary to ensure compliance with project scope and to manage contract change and budgets Collaborate with internal/external partners to prepare, write, and issue reports Review and advise on tender packages for scope gaps, quality of documents, risk, and recommendations Regular Client communication to manage the project and resolve issues Provide Clients with Contract and procurement advice Preparation of construction estimates at various stages of the design process Finalize contract accounts Leading, managing and contributing effectively to meetings and Client presentations Providing innovation and assisting with the development of the services Manage Client relationships in a manner that leads to contract renewal, referrals and service expansion including up-sells and cross-sells Identify opportunities and engage in business development for expansion and progression of Cost and Contract Advisory services Manage and coach colleagues to build the skills for required for support roles Effectively manage deliverables to deadlines by working effectively across the team
