Job Description

The education and experience. You have a university degree in Finance or Accounting and have 5+ years progressive experience in financial analysis and accounting, at a B2B SaaS or professional services company. You have strong organizational and analytical skills combined with a good business sense. You can adapt to a dynamic environment, and assist with finance change initiatives. A CPA designation (or in progress) is an asset. The technical skills. You are highly proficient with MS Office, specifically Excel (You can execute pivot tables, lookups, sums, etc.). You have hands-on skills with General ledger and reporting systems. The drive. You are detail-oriented with a high awareness of the need to be meticulously accurate. You are motivated to look for improvements to processes and introduce ideas to implement changes based on best practices. The interpersonal skills. You have flexible and effective communication skills. You can build relationships with internal stakeholders to work collaboratively. You thrive in an independent role as well as a contributing team member. You have the confidence to identify issues and proactively work towards resolutions. Reconciliations and journal entries. You will complete assigned reconciliations accurately, completely and in the time frame required by corporate policies. You will process and maintain assigned ad hoc or recurring journal entries. Auditing. You will work with an external audit firm to support audits or compliance reporting. Reporting. You will prepare and ensure accuracy and integrity of accounting and transactional records to ensure proper financial reporting. You will collaborate with internal Financial Reporting personnel to support complete time-sensitive monthly, quarterly and annual internal and external reporting. Review. You will independently examine revenue and expense accounts for accuracy and determine proper accruals. Lead and support. You will assist in monthly preparations of financial statements, including interpreting new account needs or issues. You will lead ad-hoc projects, document accounting processes and review light reconciliations.
