Job Description

1-2 years of practical experience in construction contracting, surveying, or estimating, or real estate consulting environment; Diploma in Accounting, Business, Architectural, Project Management, Construction or Civil Technology, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Science or in a related field is advantageous Experience working at a consulting firm (billable environment) is an asset Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with executive level internal and external clients ​Organizational and detailed-oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage differing needs of the business Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office products Demonstrates proficiency in the use and application of all project management technology as required for assigned projects Demonstrates skill with cost databases, Microsoft Excel and Word Education - We believe our employees represent the best this industry has to offer and we want to reflect their commitment to education and continued learning. Provides data and input to cost, project monitoring and project management reports to support the Cost Consultants and Project Manager(s) and the project deliverables Collates, coordinates, and tracks information and data and ensure contract deliverables are achieved Maintains all project documentation, logs, and records Analyzes contractor, trade and project costs for claim and payment certification data and for correct allocation of costs Participates in design, management, and construction meetings to present reports to Clients and Owners Assists the cost consultant and project manager in negotiation of costs Tracks trends in cost data to allow informed decision-making from project stakeholders Change Order/Contract Administration: Inputs cost and tracking data for change order administration Manages the change management process for all changes during design and construction phases, including, change order tracking, logs, templates, and issuance Initiates and seeks approvals and documentation to support the change order issuance Review contracts with senior team to manage the change order Coordinates the information from designers, contractors, and clients to ensure timely information exchange Proactively manages project issues on client accounts Field and Site Visits: Conduct field reviews and site visits to inspect construction progress (some overnight travel may be required) Inspects off site facilities for materials payments and storage Collates information for reports Office, and Cost and Project Management Group Responsibilities: Demonstrates an understanding of the scope of work related to the project(s) Maintains excellent communications and cooperation between contractor, consultant, and Client team Liaise and coordinate between construction, design teams and stakeholders Engage in client and project team meetings Assemble, maintain, coordinate, and follow up on project action items lists Participates in client presentations and with external consultant meetings Works with other services lines and business units as required Developing and maintaining cost database inputs for cost estimates through analysis and industry connection
