• Undergraduate/Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Real Estate, Business/Commerce or Economics preferred; in QC 3-year CEGEP equivalent in Real Estate • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience • Appraisal Institute of Canada Candidate required (min. 50% course work completed; experience/hours requirement to be completed) • Relevant experience in commercial appraisal/real estate valuation & advisory consulting • Excellent knowledge of the commercial real estate industry, market dynamics and appraisals/valuations • Excellent research, quantitative, and analytical skills • Working knowledge in creating financial modeling in Excel, ARGUS, Dyna, Marshall & Swift, etc. • Excellent written communication skills for preparing client ready reports • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Excel, Word • Valid drivers' license and a clean driver’s abstract • Conduct research and collect data from both internal databases and third-party sources • Source land use planning designations, development applications, comparable land/building transactions and more complex market knowledge as escalated by junior staff or for specific needs • Review data sources and the latest market information as it relates to the property under review and missing information needed for the appraisal report; Coach junior staff on industry players/contacts and how to approach sourcing missing information • As needed, work with Cost practitioners to determine if construction costs used in the Cost Approach are reasonable
