0-1 years of related experience in cost consulting/estimating within construction industry Post-secondary degree/diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Architectural Technology, or related discipline Excellent communication skills – interpersonal, written & presentation Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines Self-motivated with a high degree of integrity, honesty and ethics Ability to work in a team and independently A comprehensive understanding of Building systems and how they work in various types of buildings, and associated construction requirements Excellent knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat Knowledge of CostX, On-Screen Take-off, Timberline is an asset Strong knowledge of method of measurement and quantity take-off – CIQS standard method of measurement, Elemental, Uniformat, Masterformat/Trade, etc. Working towards PQS and / or MRICS designation is an asset. Provide a full range of cost estimating services to new and existing clients Review, assess, quantify building design elements throughout various building and infrastructure projects Prepare estimates at various stages of the design process, from conceptual design to pre-tender stage Collaborate with various internal/external partners to obtain the necessary information to prepare cost estimate reports Preparation of Elemental and Trade quantity take-offs Assisting in the pricing of estimates / research market pricing information Tender analysis Analysis of design efficiency Preparing Estimate Basis document (i.e. front-end reports) to support cost estimates Assisting in preparation of change order review analysis Assisting in lifecycle analysis (cost, current condition/remaining life, maintenance cost, etc.) Perform periodic site inspections & progress reports Altus Group has an immediate opening for a Cost Analyst within our Cost Consulting & Project Management division in our Calgary office. Working with our Cost Consulting team, you will provide technical support for a variety of cost consulting services to new and existing clients as directed by senior staff members in the Western region, and at times to support other Canadian regions, when required.
