Core functions will include material receiving, handling, break-down & re-pack, locate into proper storage bin locations into controlled access storage, and control the in & out of material through material requisitions or order picking. The Stock Controller is also responsible for executing aspects of the inventory management program, such as cycle counting and physical inventory activities, some inventory analysis work, organizing/re-organizing storage, creating new bin locations, and inventory transfers as needed. The Stock Controller will also back-up shipping and logistics activities as a true back-up to the Logistics Supervisor as needed. All functions are inclusive of physical handling as well as the virtual transactions in Epicor (ERP system). The Stock Controller will be required to load and unload shipments occasionally, with the potential for repetitive lifting, and the use of necessary equipment, e.g. forklift, pallet truck etc. Other responsibilities will include the inspection of incoming and outgoing products or shipments to verify contents, count, and quality. Live inventory transactions in Epicor ERP software system will be required. The NCR and RMA process will also be supported by the Stock Controller, in terms of executing material and repair dispositions. The Stock Controller must comprehend the impact and connectivity of this position to other business functions that depend on the accuracy and efficiency of warehouse operations. Inventory management and vendor relations, with various courier and transportation companies, will be key success factors for this position. The Stock Controller has a customer service focus for internal stake holders as well as external, and therefore needs to be able to work collaboratively with all levels of personnel and engage in an environment that supports teamwork and respect for people. Qualifications & Competencies: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. Post-secondary diploma or degree preferably in supply chain, material & operations management, international trade, or related, e.g., business administration, finance. Experience in a manufacturing and/or warehouse environment would be an asset. 1-2 years of collective experience in inventory control, shipping/receiving, logistics, or material planning / purchasing – Co-op and internship experience will be considered. Experience using Epicor ERP system is desirable, but not essential. Working knowledge and understanding of applicable software, e.g., an ERP system with MRP functionality, proficiency in Excel and MS Office applications. Ability to manage multiple expectations while collaborating with cross functional teams. Ability and drive to take on increased levels of learning and accountability with responsibility, good judgement, and exceptional service attitude. Works effectively with and build relationships with all core groups and suppliers. Self-motivated and positive attitude. Ability to work independently to get the task completed on time. Works well under pressure and is very assertive with suppliers and internal customers.
