Marketing Statement Metro Vancouver Transit Police (“Transit Police”) is the leader in regional public transit policing, operating across 22 communities. It provides policing services to all modes of transit: Bus, SeaBus, SkyTrain and West Coast Express. In partnership with cross-regional police partners, Transit Police prevents crime and provides coordinated police services to transit users throughout the region. It also seeks to have a workforce that is responsive to and reflective of the many diverse communities it serves. Responsibilities Provides confidential administrative, clerical and secretarial support, including producing a variety of highly confidential correspondence, memos, presentation materials; receiving incoming calls, responding to routine inquiries or redirecting calls to appropriate staff member; maintaining employee information; developing and maintaining the confidential file storage and records management system; and opening, reviewing and sorting mail. Arranges meetings as instructed, prepares agendas, distributes reference materials, and records minutes. Assembles and compiles data and prepares reports. Monitors expenditures, processes departmental invoices and expense claims/receipts. Provides administrative support to projects as requested. Qualifications Education & Experience: The competencies for this position would typically be acquired through successful completion of Grade 12 and post-secondary courses in office administration and procedures. 2 Years prior administrative experience in a unionized environment, requiring a high degree of confidentiality.
