RFM has a depth of experience accumulated over 26 years owning, developing, and operating Australian farmland, agricultural infrastructure, and other assets in the almond, poultry, macadamia, cattle, cropping, viticulture, and water sectors. Assets are located throughout New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia, and Victoria. About The Opportunity RFM is looking for an experienced Accountant with a strong focus on working precisely. You will be responsible to provide the accounting function, including the statutory reporting and management reporting requirements. This will include delivery of financial and management reporting according to agreed delivery schedules, meeting all policy and control requirements, and managing current projects including financial analysis and project management. This position is based in our inner-city Sydney Office. Our team members have the option to work from home on Wednesday each week, working collaboratively in the office on other days of the week. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Providing management reporting and statutory obligations Preparing monthly management accounts, including forecasts (including divisional reporting and financial management), monthly board reports, forecasting and annual and 3-year budgets Preparing tax workings and tax forecasting Monitoring and reporting on treasury related activities including cash flow Preparing statutory accounts for half yearly and annual statutory reporting purposes Preparing audit files to ensure there are no material adjustments arising from the audit Managing the audit process including the relationship with the auditors, including performing post audit reviews and implementing improvements Involvement in the semi-annual property valuations process Contributing to the culture of continued innovation in the finance team to deliver high quality finance services Ad-hoc accounting/finance projects Liaising and communicating with operational managers Supervising Assistant Accountants, including mentoring and development Requirements What you will need to be successful You will be a driven individual with a high level of initiative and pride in delivery high quality output. Your high level written and oral communication skills, combined with your excellent attention to detail, organisation, time management and interpersonal skills will contribute to your success in this role. You will be analytical, precise, proactive, enthusiastic and a team player. You will require two – three years’ experience in a similar role and be ready to move into a Senior Accountant function over the next 12 months. Applicants with prior experience, a background or passion for agriculture will also be highly regarded. To be considered for this position, you will require: Tertiary qualifications in accounting, CA or CPA qualified, and a minimum of three years’ work experience Extensive knowledge and a demonstrated application of Australian Accounting Standards Extensive accounting experience, particularly preparing statutory accounts and in an audit environment A high level of expertise with MS Office Suite, particularly MS Excel Benefits On offer for the successful candidate is a competitive salary dependent on experience and qualifications.
